    How to let AI agents book meetings on your behalf (MCP explained)

    Every IntoCal user has a hosted MCP server. Here's how Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can natively book you — with real snippets.

    Short answer: IntoCal ships every user a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at a predictable URL. Any MCP-compatible agent — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Warp — can query your slots and create bookings natively, no extra client code.

    What is MCP?

    The Model Context Protocol is a JSON-RPC 2.0 spec (2025-06-18) for exposing tools to LLM agents over HTTP. Think of it as "USB for AI agents". IntoCal implements it so agents can call list_event_types,query_slots, and request_booking the same way they call any other tool.

    Your MCP endpoint

    Every user's endpoint follows this pattern:

    https://api.intocal.com/mcp/{username}

    Discovery lives at /.well-known/mcp.json so agents can find IntoCal automatically.

    Public mode vs owner mode

    • Public mode (no key): guest bookings are held pending until the guest clicks a confirmation link. Safe to expose anywhere.
    • Owner mode (API key): auto-confirmed bookings and full tool set including cancel, list-bookings, and team-member queries. Rotate keys anytime in Dashboard → MCP.

    Example: Claude Desktop

    1. Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors → Add MCP.
    2. URL: https://api.intocal.com/mcp/yourname
    3. Paste your API key (optional, only for owner mode).
    4. Save. Claude can now book meetings.

    Example prompt

    "Book me a 30-minute intro call with Jane next Tuesday afternoon. Use jane@intocal.com/intro-30."

    The key takeaway: IntoCal is the only booking tool where AI agents are first-class users. No custom API integration, no MCP wrapper — it's built in.
